Piper Jets Bring Speed, Style To Legendary Line

Anyone who thinks that all Piper makes are small training planes and short-distance executive crafts needs to think again. The Piper Jet has arrived on the scene, delivering style and speed in its wake. Piper Jets are a very new undertaking of the company, but they are making a splash in avionics.

Piper Jets are part of the New Piper Aircraft company, which has picked up the reigns on this legendary manufacturer and run. The jets themselves feature everything Piper is famous for and then some. Combining speed, luxury and quality with a decent price for the machine in question, Piper Jets are not like the little Cubs of the past.

Piper Jets boast all the features one would expect from a high-quality, luxury craft. They offer a cruising speed of 360 knots, a range of 1,300 miles and a fuel payload of about 800 pounds. The plane is designed to handle altitudes that can help ensure flights take place above the weather for passenger comfort and safety.

Details were not overlooked when creating the inside of the new Piper Jets either. The new model features a 36" door, leather appointed seating for six, with an optional seventh seat. If the seventh is not desired, a lavatory or storage space can be added into the mix. Legroom is not a problem with the Piper Jet either. Each row offers plenty of room for passengers to stretch. The preliminary specifications on Piper Jets show that they will most certainly stand out from everything else in the company's line. The plane itself is more than 33 feet long and stands 16.5 feet high. The wingspan is more than 44 feet with a turbofan Williams FJ44-3AP driving it all. Although quite a derivation from the company's other models in speed, construction and price, the Piper Jet is drumming up quite a bit of excitement at this aviation company. With a history that dates back to the 1930s, the Piper company has never really delved into this aspect of flying before. Piper Jets are really the first foray into the field of very high speeds and long distances. The only other model in the Piper line that comes close in capacity is the Meridian, which offers a maximum speed of 260 knots. This is a far cry from what the new Piper Jets will be able to handle. With a price tag of more than $2 million and optional upgrades that can add to the price, Piper Jets are the most expensive planes in the company's line, as well. Pipers, however, still offer a wide berth of pricing. With the Warrior III training plane coming it at just over $200,000, it appears as if the New Piper has not lost sight of its original goal to deliver affordability with quality.
