About The Piper PA-32 Series

The Piper PA-32 series dominates the New Piper's personal class line with four out of the five current models all bearing the PA-32 designation. These "mid-line" models in the Piper line up are anything but mediocre, however. In fact, they are considered as ideal for corporate use as they are for personal flights.

The models presently produced in the Piper PA-32 series include the Piper 6X and the Piper 6XT. The two Saratoga models, as well, are PA32s. They are the II TC and the II HP.

The Piper PA-32 Series is known for its passenger capacity, luxury appointments and reasonable speed and distance abilities. Each plane in the series, however, is slightly different in the perks it offers pilots, buyers and passengers. They do tend to share the distinction of having Lycoming engines and a variety of advanced, upgrades available.

The Piper 6X is the lowest capacity plane in this PA-32 series. It offers some decent legroom, however, and maximum speeds of up to 155 knots. In addition, it has a range of 804 nautical miles and a useful load of 1,393 pounds. It offers a six-person seating capacity and a service ceiling of 17,200 feet.

The Piper PA-32 series Piper 6XT is a step up from the 6X. It provides flyers with 172 knots of speed and a range of 931 nautical miles. With a useful load of 1,329 pounds, this six-seat model has a service ceiling of 20,000 feet.

The Saratoga II HP is billed as a powerful, but elegant entry in the line. It offers a maximum speed of up to 175 knots. Its maximum distance is 859 nautical miles with a useful load of 1,204 pounds. The six-seater offers a service ceiling of 15,588 feet.

The PA-32 series Saratoga II TC is the biggest plane in the series and the personal line, as well. This executive plane offers a smooth ride with speeds up to 187 knots. The maximum range comes in at 950 nautical miles, while the useful load tops out at 1,137 pounds. With an operating altitude of up to 20,000 feet, this Saratoga model is only topped by a few others in the Piper fleet as far as room and high-end features are concerned.

The Piper PA-32 series dominates the personal class line produced by this company. Offering a broad range of prices with lots of options, luxury, quality and reasonable pricing come together within this series. Planes in the series start out around $450,000 and go up to more than $573,000. Options can add to the bottom line, as well.
