Piper Warrior Delivers Comfort To The Training Arena
|
The Piper Warrior line is one of the longest-running makes in this company's history. Offering more room than other training-class planes, the Warrior is favored by many pilots for a number of reasons. Although considered a "learning" machine, the Piper Warrior offers several perks that make it perfect for personal use, as well. With seating for four, the plane has a cabin that accommodates more than most other planes considered trainers. In addition, the Piper Warrior has been and remains one of the more affordable planes in the training market. With this in mind, it is little wonder the Warrior class is frequently found at training schools and even offered up for rentals for short-distance runs. The history of the Piper Warrior began in the 1960s. The plane was the first model created at Piper's new facility in Vero Beach, Florida. It started out as a training favorite and remains so today. Through the years the PA-28 model was tweaked and improved. Today, the company manufacturers the Piper Warrior III, which is also known as the PA28-161 model. This particular craft packs in a fair number of features, considering its size and pricing. The Piper Warrior III has a wing span of 35 feet, a length of 23.8 feet and a height of 7.3 feet. With a useful load of 908 pounds, it can handle some gear, as well. The maximum speed on this craft is a fair 117 knots. It can cover a decent range for a small plane, too. Its capacity at 10,000 feet is 513 nautical miles. Its service ceiling is 11,000 feet. With a price tag of just over $200,000, the Piper Warrior is considered one of the most affordable personal crafts on the market today. This is a reputation the model has long enjoyed. The newer model Warrior III features a Lycoming 160 hp engine. It operates off of four cylinders and relies on thermodynamic power. Although the standard Piper Warrior III is considered quite affordable as far as personal aircraft is concerned, the model does not come stripped down. For those who want more out of their ride, however, the company provides a rather extensive upgrade list of options for the Warrior. From a deluxe Garmin avionics package to a variety of other choices, there is no real shortage of ways to personalize and customize this plane. With a history that dates back to the 1960s, the Piper Warrior continues this company's tradition of combining affordability and functionality into a single package. |
