Saratoga-II HPs Deliver Power For Personal Flight

Saratoga-II HPs are one of several aircrafts offered in the New Piper Aircraft line that cater to upgraded, personal flying. Delivering a variety of features, including a fair amount of power, this particular model owes its existence to a long and storied history in luxurious, but affordable flying.

Like the horses that race at the famous Upstate New York flat track of the same name, the Saratoga is known for its sheer power, but comfortable ride. In fact, Saratoga-II HPs feature 300 hps and an ability to reach 175 knots in the air. Those with a need for speed and a fair amount of room will find this six-seater does not skimp on other features either.

With a standard model price tag of under $530,000, Saratoga-II HPs are not the cheapest in the New Piper line, but they are considered affordable for the perks they deliver. The sizing specifications on this plane include a total length of 27.9 feet, a wing span of 36.2 feet and a height of 8.5 feet. The model also features a useful load capacity of 1,204 pounds and can handle a range of 859 nautical miles. The service ceiling falls in at 15,588 feet.

Saratoga-II HPs are designed with luxury in mind. The cabin itself features handcrafted leather seating, which boasts lumbar support. It is noted for its quiet ride to further ensure passenger comfort. In addition, there are separate nose and aft compartments for stowing baggage.

Typical features on the Saratoga model are rather extensive, as well. The package comes with a flight deck designed by Avidyne, an engine designed by Lycoming, and an optional built-in icing protection system, as well. The engine also features six cylinders, while a Hartzell propeller with three blades offering constant speed also deck out this plane. Buyers are offered a choice of interior colors, too.

Pilots and owners who want more out of the Saratoga-II HPs will find there are a number of upgrades that can be added to the package. These include equipment upgrades and cosmetic touches both. From advanced weather tracking systems to custom paint, a Saratoga can be decked out to be distinctly different.

Delivered by a company with a track record that dates back to the 1930s, Saratoga-II HPs are considered high on Piper’s personal class list. Balancing luxury and affordability, this particular craft is known for its power, performance and comfort features that are built into the design.
